Eastside Brewing Co. is just around the corner from Main Street in Reynoldsburg. They offer a spacious outdoor seating area perched next to their indoor taproom with a variety of drink options.

Inside the taproom, you’ll find high and low-top tables with views of TVs showing a variety of sports. Also inside is the Slab barbecue kitchen with ribs, burgers and wings to pair with your beers.

Outside, the “adult playground” offers a well-shaded and grassy respite from the sun, with picnic tables, patio umbrellas, and lawn games. While this makes it an excellent choice for dog lovers, dogs are not allowed inside the taproom and must be attended. Likewise, children must be under adult supervision when visiting and are only permitted until 7pm.

On tap, Eastside offers several IPAs, some light ales and lagers, and a few guest taps of beer and wine from their sister brewery Buckeye Lake. I tried a flight of beers on draft:

Sunrise Golden Ale– Aptly named as this did look like the color of the rising sun, I found this blonde to be an easy-drinking, malty beer with a very light hop palate reminiscent of a classic pilsner.

Eastside IPA– This American IPA was floral, piney, and bitter, with a robust body, like an old-school West Coast IPA.

Kölsch– A very mild beer, light in flavor and density. I felt this was lacking in the hoppy finish that typically gives a kölsch its crispy kick.

Saison Farmhouse Ale– A golden-hued beer with the scent of straw, this brew offered a malty body with some funky, yeast-driven flavors of grass and cloves.
